Through YouthServe AmeriCorps, you can make a difference in the life of a teen, while at the same time having an experience that will change your own life. If you would like to work with youth, feel you can motivate at-risk teens and serve as a role model, and would like to earn money for school or pay back student loans, while gaining valuable work experience and training, then this is the opportunity for you!


General Responsibilities

  • Provide academic and/or behavioral support to at-risk teens
  • Understand and implement a service-learning approach throughout all service activities
  • Recruit/train/guide youth and adult volunteers in developing and implementing projects/activities
  • Evaluate and record program progress through the Objective Tracking System
  • Publicize YouthServe related community projects and events
  • Coordinate and participate in annual National Service Days
  • Attend YouthServe committee meetings and partnership collaborative meetings, as appropriate
  • Attend weekly Team Meetings and all otherĀ  Member Development activities

Minimum Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident Alien
  • At least 22 years of age, no upper age limit
  • At least 1 year of college
  • Previous experience (formal or volunteer) working with youth
